Steady Steps

There’s a line I've drawn, a boundary clear,
Between what drains me and what keeps me near.
I’ve lingered too long in tangled grace,
Held by feelings that shift, yet never replace
The peace I seek, the calm I crave—
A life of freedom, fierce and brave.

It’s easy to stay, let waves pull me down,
Swayed by emotions, tossed around.
But I choose more than a fleeting tide;
I choose the shore where my spirit abides.

To live on feelings is to drift alone,
In seas of silence, without a stone
To anchor my heart, to still my mind—
The peace I need is the peace I find.

So I’ll walk away with purpose and grace,
Leaving behind the restless chase.
My steps are firm, my path is mine,
I’ll not return to what isn’t aligned.
